Georgia Trio Charged with Kidnapping Maine Man

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Three men from Georgia are charged with kidnapping and theft by deception after a man was abducted in Brewer Friday.

The trio was in court in Bangor Monday. 44-year-old Anthony Foster, 39-year-old Jeral Blackmon and 20-year-old Isaiah Roberts are each being held on $50,000 cash bail.

Authorities say Foster, Blackmon and Roberts picked up the man, drove him to a bank in Bangor and forced him to make a fraudulent bank transaction totaling more than $1,000.

We're told after he was let go, he went to police.

The three men were arrested Friday afternoon.

The State believes this case might be connected to similar crimes in Southern Maine and that Foster, Blackmon and Roberts are part of a ring of folks coming to Maine to make phony transactions.

They're due back in court in January.
