Frost advisory in effect Monday night, protect your plants from the weather

A frost advisory is in effect for much of Maine.

Frost could kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered.

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.

The advisory is in effect from midnight until 7am Tuesday.

* WHAT...Temperatures as low as 30 to 36 will result in frost formation.

* IMPACTS...Frost could kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered.

Including the cities of Bangor, Brewer, Orono, Old Town, Amherst, Aurora, Dedham, Eastbrook, Great Pond, Calais, Grand Lake Stream, Wesley, Princeton, Ellsworth, Bar Harbor, Bucksport, Orland, Castine, Eastport, Perry, Machias, and Cherryfield

* WHAT...Sub-freezing temperatures of 27 to 32 degrees expected.

* WHERE...Northeast Aroostook, Northern Somerset and Northern Piscataquis Counties. * WHEN...From midnight tonight to 7 AM EDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.
