Fire badly damaged a Sidney home Thursday evening.

Officials say several departments were called to Bartlett Road around 5 p.m.

We're told no was home at the time, but two cats are unaccounted for.

Officials don't know the cause of the fire at this point.

Sidney Fire Chief Richard Jandreau said, "It's hard to get to because everything collapsed in on the first floor so we have multiple layers of lumber that we to get through to try to get the fire out from underneath."

The homeowner is staying with family.

The Fire Marshal's Office has been called to investigate.
