Ferguson appealing murder conviction

(WABI) - The state supreme court will hear the appeal for one of two men from New York convicted of killing a man in Bangor.

Thomas Ferguson, 40, was sentenced in January to 50 years in prison for the murder of Robert Kennedy.

He and 30-year-old Robert Hansley were found guilty of killing Kennedy at an apartment on Center Street in 2015.

According to police, the shooting was to settle a drug debt.

Ferguson's lawyers believe his conviction should be overturned because there wasn't enough evidence to prove he was Hansley's accomplice.

Hansley is serving 40 years for the murder.
