HUDSON, Maine (WABI) - One person is dead following a car crash in Hudson overnight.

According to the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office, 18-year-old Mary Miller of Bradford was driving the car and died at the scene.

She was the only occupant in the vehicle.

Officials responded to the Hudson Road just after 12:30 this morning.

It happened near the three thousand block of the road.

Officials say it's along a straight stretch of that roadway.

Sergeant William Sheehan of the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Department spoke to TV5 on the scene Thursday morning.

"It was a single-vehicle. The crash is still under investigation but there is one person, single-occupant that was deceased. We are in the initial phases. It's being reconstructed and mapped. As soon as we make some notifications we will release additional information," said Sheehan.

We'll have more information as it becomes available.
