A woman from Ellsworth, with four children was certain Christmas wasn't going to happen for her family.

Trisha Murphy went to work at Denny's Saturday after getting her car towed the day before, she tried to forget the stress of finances surrounding her car and Christmas gifts.

There were three men at one table she waited on around 5 o'clock Saturday, the bill was $35.

The tip was $500.

"When I gave him the bill, he said so I'm just going to give this to you and I said, well the hostess will take care of it and he goes no that's not going to work... I have to have you cash me out. and the receipt printed and I thought that I was going to faint and he just looked at me smiled and said Merry Christmas. He saved Christmas honestly."

Murphy said she was too in shock to get the man's name however she said she can't thank him enough for what he did for her family.
