ELLSWORTH, Maine (WABI) - A longtime journalist, businesswoman and community leader in the Ellsworth area has died.
Helen Dudman passed away Monday at Parker Ridge Retirement Community in Blue Hill.
She was 93.
Dudman owned three radio stations in Ellsworth after spending several years in Washington, D.C.
There she worked at Post Newsweek Stations and was the executive women's editor of the Washington Post.
Dudman served as president of the Maine Association of Broadcasters and was named the Maine Broadcaster of the Year in 1991.
She was also inducted into the Maine Broadcasters Hall of Fame.
Dudman's husband and esteemed journalist, Richard, died last August at the age of 99.
Funeral services for Helen Dudman are set for March 17th at Jordan-Fernald in Ellsworth.
