Kennebunk, Maine (WMTW) While many were relaxing on the beach yesterday, some were running it.
Dozens gathered together for the Annual Day at the Beach 5K in Kennebunk.
The race benefits kids programs offered by the Kennebunk Beach Improvement Association.
For participants and organizers, it's a tradition that goes hand in hand with the camp's mission of summer fun.
"It's just all about the kids and their energy and their excitement and watching them learn how to do new things." Says KBIA Instructor, Tony Viehmann.
"I look forward to all of the exciting activities and seeing some friends that I saw from last year." Says Jet Francis, one of the run participants.
KBIA provides summer programming to more than 700 children.
