Dead dog found on private beach, arrest warrants issued

Winter Harbor police are investigating the violent killing of a local man's dog.

Now arrest warrants have been issued for two suspects in the case.

37 year old Nathan Burke of Hancock and 22 year old Justin Chipman of Winter Harbor are suspected to killing the animal and authorities are asking for help in locating them.

Police say someone entered a home on Rand Lane last week...they believe the dog was stolen then killed.

The dog's remains were discovered last night on a private beach.

The animal had been wrapped in garbage bags, according to witnesses who found it.

Police say they have two suspects who are believed to have burglarized the home, also stealing the homeowner's SUV and returning it heavily damaged.

The two people are acquainted with the homeowner, according to authorities.
