BREWER, Maine (WABI) - Staff at the Dead River Company in Brewer came together Friday to honor one of their own.
Justin Franck is deploying to Africa on Father's Day with the Air National Guard.
He has worked with Dead River for 15 years.
The staff wanted to wish him well and give him a nice send off.
They held a barbecue luncheon in his honor.
Chad Caron, Marketing Manager for Dear River Company in Brewer says, "We're just kind of giving him a little bit of a well-wishing luncheon just to show our support. Dead River Company in the past has been very supportive of our military, and we at the local level here just want to show our personal thanks and support to Justin."
Justin Franck, who works with Dead River Company and will be deploying says, "I'm actually pretty excited. It's my first deployment. It should be pretty interesting to see what I'm going to do over there. It's very much appreciated to have them take note that I'm actually deploying and I'm going to be gone for a pretty good amount of time."
Franck will be leaving behind his wife and kids for seven months.
