All inmates and staff at the Cumberland County Jail will wear masks until further notice, after a prisoner tested positive for COVID-19.

A spokesperson for the jail says the inmate was brought to the jail Saturday from Westbrook.

The inmate was taken to the medical unit after it was discovered the person may have been exposed to the virus.

The positive test result was returned Monday night.

The jail says the inmate has a court appearance and could be released Tuesday.
