Corporal Cole Memorial 5k and half marathon

NORRIDGEWOCK, Maine (WABI) - Jessica Gleason and Brandy Mills-Cain stopped by the TV5 studios to talk about a 5k and half marathon in memory of Corporal Eugene Cole later this summer.

It takes place August 19 at 7 a.m. at Mill Stream Elementary School in Norridgewock.

Mill Stream Elementary School, 26 Mercer Road, Norridgewock Maine

5K Runners, Walkers, Strollers, Well-Behaved Dogs
Half-Marathon: No Strollers

Corporal Cole’s Call number was 1312. I have been asked numerous times, “are you sure you want to organize a half-marathon, why not just a 5K?” For me there was never any question that this race had to include a half marathon, well a little longer at exactly 13.12 miles in memory of Corporal Coles Call.

For all of those that have ever thought they wanted to run a half marathon, this is the one! This race will be filled with inspiration and motivation throughout the course route.

We have every mile marker at 1.12 miles again incorporating Corporal Coles Call Number. We have signs with words like, husband, son, dad, to remind us who Corporal Cole was and a reminder of the loved ones he still impacts. Quotes from Mrs. Cole will be incorporated throughout the course encouraging runners to dig deep and hold their heads high.

All proceeds go to the Corporal Cole Memorial Scholarship Fund.
