BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - A Corinth man charged with arson and attempted murder was in court on Friday.
65-year-old Fred Roberts was arrested after authorities say he poured gasoline and lit a fire inside his Hudson Road home on Wednesday.
His longtime friend, 70-year-old Barbara King, was inside the home at the time.
She was seriously injured.
Attorney Chris Largay spoke on behalf of King in court on Friday.
Largay said, “The bizarre nature of what happened here would indicate that safety would be a very high concern so we ask for the highest possible bail that this court could set.”
Bail is set at 200,000 dollars.
Roberts is due back in court in March.
