Convicted sex offender in Waterville to prison for another sex crime

WATERVILLE, Maine (WABI) - A convicted sex offender from Waterville will spend three years in prison for gross sexual assault.

55-year-old David Woodard pleaded guilty Thursday to one count.

A second one was dismissed in exchange for his plea.

Court documents say he raped a woman in Benton in December of 2016.

He was arrested in May.

Woodard was previously convicted twice of unlawful sexual contact and is on the state's sex offender registry for life.
