BANGOR, Maine Independent candidate for governor Terry Hayes was the first to concede to her opponents, leaving the race for Maine's next Governor a contest between Janet Mills and Shawn Moody.

After midnight, and without official results tallied, Shawn Moody conceded the gubernatorial race to Janet Mills.

Zak Ringelstein also stated earlier in the night that he was conceding to incumbent United States Senator Angus King, who later in the evening declared victory based on the numbers available at that hour.
