Community meals being offered to those in need of traditional Thanksgiving dinner

AUGUSTA- A community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, at the Le Club Calumet, 334 West River Road in Augusta. The organization will serve a free traditional Thanksgiving meal.
BANGOR — Hammond Street Congregational Church will host a Thanksgiving dinner noon-1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, at 28 High St.
BELFAST- On Thanksgiving day the Knights of Columbus, along with St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, will be serving a traditional Thanksgiving meal from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the parish hall at 81 Court Street, Belfast. If you know anyone in the community who may be alone or otherwise would not be celebrating Thanksgiving please let them know about the dinner. All are welcome.
BELFAST — The fourth annual Red Knights Maine Chapter IX and Traci’s Thanksgiving dinner will be held 11 a.m. -4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, at Traci’s Diner, 57 Main St. The cost is by donation. If you can’t afford to donate you are still welcome to eat. All proceeds go to Adoptive and Foster Families of Maine.
FARMINGTON — A free traditional Thanksgiving dinner will be served from noon to 1 p.m. Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 22, at the Mount Blue High School food court, 139 Seamon Road. The event is sponsored by the Scottish Rite Masons of Augusta Valley.
Reservations are required for delivery and takeouts by Monday, Nov. 19. Those who plan to eat in the food court also should call in advance.

GARDINER- The Augusta Valley Scottish Rite Masons will sponsor a free Thanksgiving dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 22, at Gardiner Area High School, 40 West Hill Road. Those without transportation or shut-ins who prefer meals to be delivered can make arrangements for home delivery by calling Kevin Campbell at 504-3073. Anyone interested in helping with meal preparation should call Larry Perkins at 685-3325 or Don Pratt at 692-4807.
GUILFORD- Guilford United Methodist Church is hosting a free community Thanksgiving dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22 at 3 School Street.
HERMON — Hermon Masonic Lodge free Thanksgiving dinner 11 a.m. -2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, at Lynde Lodge No. 174, 2500 U.S. Route 2.
JAY — Bean’s Corner Baptist Church will host a free Thanksgiving meal 1-3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22. at 17 Chesterville Road. There will be a complete homemade meal, including dessert. Just let us know if you are coming at 645-2925.
LEE- Celebrate Thanksgiving this year with America's heroes and their families at House in the Woods Military Family Retreat's 2nd annual Public Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday, November 22nd.There are 3 sittings: 2:00pm, 4:00pm, and 6:00pm. Reservations are preferred and will get first seating for the time requested. VETERANS ARE FREE. Community members are requested to make a donation of $8.00 per person. Reservations can be made by calling 738-VETS (8387) and leaving a message with your name and how many in your party.
LIBERTY- The 4th Annual Pay it forward Thanksgiving at the Liberty Community Hall on Thanksgiving day 11-1 for anyone in the community that wants to come for a complete dinner with all the fixings. They will also be accepting non perishable goods that will be donated to the Liberty Baptist Church food pantry.
MACHIAS- A traditional buffet-style Thanksgiving meal with all of the fixings will be offered to the community 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22 at Bluebird Ranch Family Restaurant, 78 Main St. The meal is free, although donations will be appreciated. Proceeds and nonperishable food items will be donated to Machias Food Pantry.
MADISON- A Thanksgiving dinner for senior citizens will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at Madison Area Memorial High School, 486 Main Street. Take-out orders for Madison residents are available if ordered in advance. To place an order in advance, or for more information, call 696-3395.
ROCKLAND- St. Peter’s Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner November 22nd. All are welcome to the Free Turkey Dinner with all the traditional dishes trimmings: mashed potatoes & gravy, stuffing, peas, cranberry sauce, and lots of pies – all your favorites! Gluten free and vegan items will also be available. The dinner is on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 22nd at 12:30 pm in the Church Parish Hall. The church is located at 11 White Street in Rockland. There is no charge for the dinner. St. Peter’s Episcopal Church welcomes anyone to attend with a special invitation to those who would otherwise be alone on this occasion. Anyone who wishes to assist with the preparation and serving of the meal, or who would like to contribute to the meal with donations of food or cash, may call Lucia Elder at 446-2502, or St Peter’s church office at 594-8191.
UNION- The Thompson Community Center will be hosting their annual free Thanksgiving Dinner with all the fixings. The meal will be served from 11 am - 1 pm.
WINTHROP- A free Thanksgiving Day dinner will be offered from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, in the hall of St. Francis Xavier Church, located on 130 Route 133. Residents in need are invited to join their neighbors and fellow community members at the dinner which is organized by the Winthrop Rotary Club. Takeout meals are also available.
