Community Pays It Forward For 'Welcome To Housing Home Goods Bank'

There was a "Winter White-Out" in Bangor Saturday.

Volunteers from Welcome To Housing Home Goods Bank were on hand collecting donations of toilet tissue, paper towels, and other personal care items at Shaw's Supermarket in Bangor.

Those items will be handed out to folks in need.

Kitchen items like dishes and glassware were also accepted.

"We help people from close to 50 different agencies now and if people are in need, it's like the adage of life as a journey, not as a destination. If somebody is broken down on the side of the road, you pull over and help them out. We're doing the same thing. A lot of people out there in need and there is a lot of compassionate people out here, and thank God for them," said volunteer, Christopher Olsen.
