Communities in Western Maine against proposed power line

STARKS, Maine (WABI) - Make it an even dozen the number of communities in Western Maine that have come out against CMP’S billion dollar power line.

Residents of Starks have overwhelmingly voted to not support the project.

The Public Utilities Commission has approved the first of three permits CMP needs to move forward.

The 145-mile transmission line would bring power from Canada, through Maine, to Massachusetts.
