Coming Up at the Collins Center for the Arts
Coming up in March at the Collins Center for the Arts:
Erth's Dinosaur Zoo Live - March 4 - Brought to life by a team of skilled performers and puppeteers, and designed with the help of professional paleontologists, Erth's DINOSAUR ZOO LIVE's puppets are extraordinarily realistic. Great family show. Almost sold out!
Circle Eloize Saloon - March 11 - The Wild Wild West comes alive with Cirque Éloize's newest creation Saloon, where theatre and circus collide for 85 minutes of live folk music combined with strength, agility and original choreography.
The Bangor Symphony Orchestra will be at the Collins Center March 17th for their pops performance. Music from The Wiz, Wizard of Oz and Wicked will be featured.
Bible (abridged) - March 24 - The Reduced Shakespeare Company (RSC) is a touring American acting troupe that performs fast-paced, seemingly improvisational condensations of huge topics. The company's style has been described as "New Vaudeville," combining both physical and verbal humor, as well as highbrow and lowbrow. Known as the "Bad Boys of Abridgment," the RSC has created ten stage shows including this production.
Also coming up, in April and May:
Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder - April 4 - This knock-'em-dead hit tells the story of Monty Navarro, a distant heir to a family fortune who sets out to speed up the line of succession using a great deal of charm…and a dash of murder. This won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Musical.
Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain - April 13 - The Orchestra was formed in 1985 as a bit of fun, but the first gig was an instant sell-out, and they've been performing ever since. The current ensemble has been playing together for over 20 years, and is the second appearance by this group at the CCA.
Steep Canyon Rangers - April 21 - A bluegrass band at their core, the Steep Canyon Rangers effortlessly walk the line between festival favorite and sophisticated string orchestra. This group usually plays with the comedian Steve Martin.
