A woman from Connecticut who helped rob two Bangor businesses in two days with her husband is going to prison for close to three years.

31-year-old Cara Blewitt was sentenced Monday in federal court in Bangor to 33 months for each of her two charges, to be served concurrently.

She admitted last fall she was the getaway driver for her husband.

Police say in May, 29-year-old Seth Blewitt walked into TD Bank on Stillwater Avenue and demanded money.

Court documents say Cara Blewitt used to work for the bank's branch in Connecticut.

The next day, Memorial Day, the two robbed the Dollar Tree store down the street.

Court documents say this time Seth Blewitt threatened employees with a sawed-off shotgun, while his wife waited in the car.

An officer spotted their car later that day and arrested them.

Seth Blewitt has also pleaded guilty and is waiting to be sentenced.
