BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - It was a packed house at incumbent Bruce Poliquin's watch party in Bangor. Supporters anxiously waited for results at Dysart's in Bangor throughout the night. Poliquin did make two appearances later in the night. He never took the podium, but did say no matter what they will count every vote cast.

Just before 12:30, he came back to tell supporters there would be no results that night but they would be watching the count closely.
"We're not going to get a final result tonight but you folks are terrific. We cannot be where we're at without all these terrific volunteers. So, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart." said Poliquin
In a televised debate before the election, Poliquin stated that he would only vote for himself and not use the ranked-choice voting system.
Further, his campaign has refused to say if it will accept results based on the new voting system.
