CARATUNK, Maine (WABI) - The body of a New Jersey man who reportedly tried to swim across the Kennebec River has been recovered.
Workers at a construction company in Caratunk found the body of Michael Camiso Tuesday.
Officials have been looking for him since May 8th.
We're told Camiso was hiking the Appalachian Trail and had come to the river crossing late last month.
Authorities say he told a member of law enforcement he was going to try to swim across but was told not to because the river was too high.
That was the last time he was seen.
His body was taken to Medical Examiner's Office where he was identified.
