Big vote took place in Waterville on Election Day....snacks were on the line

WATERVILLE, Maine (WABI) You didn't have to be 18 to vote in Waterville today.

Not if you were voting on tomorrow's snack, that is.

Educare Central Maine staff chose to teach their preschool students about the importance of voting in a fun, yet meaningful way.

They had realistically decorated ballot boxes and each student cast their own votes in pint sized voting booths.

The contenders were -- Teddy Grahams, Scooby Snacks, and Fruity Cheerios.

The results came in mid-afternoon.

181 votes were cast.

48 for Teddy Grahams, 53 for Scooby Snacks and...the winner with 81 votes... Fruity Cheerios!
