Belfast restaurant fined for use of styrofoam

BELFAST, Maine (WABI) Belfast has fined a local business for using polystyrene, or styrofoam.

The city has fined Young's Lobster Pound $100 for violating a ban on takeout packaging.

Village Soup reports the restaurant used styrofoam cups for its cole slaw.

This is the first time the city has formally acted against a business since the ban was enacted earlier this year.
