Bangor conducting study of bus system

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - How can Bangor's public transportation system run more effectively?

That's the question a new transit study the city is conducting is hoping to answer.

A public forum at the Bangor Public Library Thursday afternoon offered people who use the Community Connector a chance to weigh in on the things they observe or would like to see done differently.

The city has hired an outside consulting firm to assist them.

"Overall it has been unchanged for several years, and this is our opportunity to have a consultant come in and help us understand how to run more productively, any technology that we may need added, and provide a long-term plan to create a sustainable transit system," said Assistant City Manager Rich Cromwell.

The firm is expected to conclude its study by June.
