Bangor babysitter allegedly found drunk and partially clothed pleads not guilty

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - A Bangor babysitter who police say was found drunk and not wearing pants or shoes in public was in court Wednesday afternoon.

A tearful Lauren Gelinas of Bangor pled not guilty to two counts child endangerment.

According to the court proceedings Gelinas was recently babysitting two children, ages 2 and 4 at a home off Ohio Street.

Police say she was walking around the neighborhood naked from the waist down and told the arresting officer she'd had vodka and left the kids home alone.

They went to home and found a child crying hysterically and lying in vomit.

Police say the other was dirty and asleep upstairs.

One of the children complained of being kicked by Gelinas.

She's being held on 500 dollars cash bail and will be back in court in December.
