Bangor Puppies in Need of Forever Homes

By  |

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Puppy lovers, rejoice.

Tuesday is adoption day at the Bangor Humane Society.

25 dogs there are looking for forever homes.

This is the second time transport puppies from Mississippi kill shelters have been sent to Maine for adoption.

Staffers say get their early. The adoption starts at noon and lines will be out the door.

"Ring our doorbell as early as 9 o'clock. We'll be giving out numbers. The earlier you're here, the better number you have, the better chance you have at selecting possibly a new family member into your home. We will have pre-adoption surveys available with those numbers as well. So people can come back with that all complete. They're all fixed, microchipped, up to date on shots. They'll come with food and a little welcome package. Pretty ready to go."

Puppies are $350.

The prices decrease based on age.

We're told events like this have also increased adoption rates for long-term dogs at the shelter.
