ROCKLAND, Maine (WABI) - A nearly six-hour long standoff in Rockland ended with the arrest of a man.

62-year-old Timothy St. Thomas of Bangor has been charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, criminal trespass and two counts of disorderly conduct.

The Rockland Police Department says it began around 7 Sunday morning, when management at the Trade Winds Hotel asked St. Thomas to leave because he was being disorderly.

Authorities say St. Thomas threatened them with a walking stick and then barricaded himself in the hotel room.

He was taken into custody a little after 12:30 and brought to the Knox County Jail.
