Meeting the needs of those who don't have homes.

That's just one goal of the Bangor Area Homeless Shelter and one important topic at the shelter's annual meeting Wednesday.

This year’s gathering was combined with a Town Hall Meeting at Husson University which allowed area residents to share their thoughts on homelessness.

It was also to get input on the shelter's new vision- which is to provide stable housing within 30 days to those without homes.

The Shelters Board of Directors David Casavant said they need the community input to better serve the area.

Board of Directors, David Casavant, said, "our mission is based on building collaborations across the community and also to educate the community with regards to the needs about homes and also in terms of responding to needs and building collaborations towards our new vision."

Throughout the end of this fiscal year, we're told they provided nearly 400 temporary housing for overnight guests.
