Authorities say a Medford man involved in a head-on crash in Alton that killed a woman from Lagrange had just left a methadone clinic before he got on the road.
25-year-old Tyler Creighton is charged with driving to endanger and violating conditions of release.
Deputy District Attorney Alice Clifford says Creighton was out on bail for OUI at the time of the crash Friday morning.
Clifford didn't say which methadone clinic Creighton had been to.
Methadone is a drug given to help people overcome opioid addiction.
Creighton was driving on Bennoch Road just before 8 a.m. Friday.
His car collided with another vehicle driven by 63-year-old Robin Gardner.
She was killed at the scene.
Creighton was taken to the hospital for injuries, then arrested.
He's scheduled to make his first court appearance Monday afternoon.
Clifford says she's going to argue to have Creighton's bail on the OUI charge revoked.
