Bread of Life Ministries in Augusta broke ground on an expansion project that will add on to both their family and veterans shelters.

There will be an additional 14 beds in the family shelter and the amount of beds in the veterans shelter will double.

The veterans shelter will also now have a handicap bedroom and bathroom for veterans struggling with mobility issues.

They hope that this will allow them to never say no again to anyone wanting to stay there.

"Today marks a new page in our history, in Bread of Life Ministries, to be able to expand and serve more people, and not turn anybody away," says John Richardson, Executive Director of Bread of Life Ministries.

They say construction is expected to take about 4 months.
