The Cinderella Project of Maine is holding its annual prom dress giveaways in Belfast and Gardiner.

The dresses are free to any Maine high school student in need of a prom dress as long as they promise to do something nice for someone else in their community.

The Gardiner giveaway will be on Sunday, January 20th, from 9-2 at Gardiner Area High School.

The Belfast giveaway will be in April.

A date and location will be released at a later date.

"One stipulation that we have is that the students pay it forward. So, that is something done in the community to help another person. Students will additionally give back the dress the next season so that someone else can use it. There's no income restrictions. We like to serve all Maine high school students that are attending a formal event this spring."

If you or someone would like to donate a dress to the Cinderella Project of Maine, you can drop them off at any Day's Jewelers store in the state.
