BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - A high voter turnout across the country and the state on Election Day -
including voting in Bangor. The Cross Center packed with people voting last night. We spoke with Secretary of State Matt Dunlap about voter turnout in this historic election. He traveled to polling sites throughout the state. Dunlap says this level of voter turnout just proves the civic dedication of Mainers.
"This is something that we've known for a long time. That Maine has always been a leader in election turnout every cycle. This is certainly evidence to that and I think that we were prepared for this, we understood that we were going to be very busy and that's what we see." said Dunlap.
Dunlap also praised volunteers and workers for their hard work at the polls.
