When it comes to starting jobs in healthcare and culinary arts most students may not think of a retirement community as a place to start their career path.
Play, Create, Believe, that’s the idea behind 207 Kids. It’s a collaborative project aiming to raise money for kids in Maine to have access to anything that interests them whether it’s sports, music, or outdoor activities.
Whether it was defending champions Old Town Fire with their two-meat chili or challengers Skowhegan Fire with their pulled pork bbq chili, there was plenty of flavor to go around for a good cause.
Throughout the month, Families First will be raising awareness about the organization’s needs in keeping with its mission to break the cycle of homelessness.
It’s plenty more than just garlic - there will be arts and craft sales, pumpkin painting, yoga, free kayak rentals, live music and other festival food.
Open for extended hours, the night also offered a twist - live performers standing in as period experts on the museum’s various vehicles and artifacts.
