Ryan's interest in weather started when he was a little kid. He loved watching the Weather Channel all of the time and visiting his grandparents in the mountains of northern Vermont, where snow was almost a daily occurrence during the winter months. Ryan was always fascinated with snowstorms and severe weather and how weather can change so rapidly, as well as the impact it had on everyone’s life. At a young age, he aspired to learn about all aspects of weather, with an interest in keeping his family safe.
After high school, he attended a local community college, earning an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts. He then transferred to Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, Connecticut, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Meteorology/Broadcast Meteorology. During his time at WestConn he completed an Internship at WTNH in New Haven, Connecticut.
You can see Ryan every weekend on Saturday Morning Maine and Sunday Morning Maine as well as on TV5 Weekend News in the evening. During the week, he also hits the field as a reporter or fill-ins for his partners on the TV5 weather team, Todd Simcox and Chris Ewing.
