BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - A Bangor man is now facing an additional charge after investigators linked him to a shooting that happened over a week ago.

Bangor Police say it happened last Monday night on Talbot Trail off Stillwater Avenue. A man called 911, saying he’d been shot, and then the suspect left.

Officers say they found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, an unhoused man from Princeton, told police he had been camping in the nearby woods when he was shot at unprovoked.

Justin Grover, 38, of Bangor, was arrested last Wednesday for possessing a firearm as a prohibited person after investigators searched a home on Stillwater Avenue in connection with the shooting. Police at the time said more charges were expected. Grover was later released on bail.

Grover was arrested in direct connection with the shooting on Thursday following an “extensive investigation,” police say. He has been charged with elevated aggravated assault for his alleged involvement in that incident.

Grover was taken into custody once again and booked at the Penobscot County Jail. He is currently being held on $100,000 cash bail.

Another person, Kristina Hart, was arrested as part of the search warrant last week. Police did not announce any additional charges against Hart. She was arrested for obstructing government administration, Disorderly Conduct, and refusing to submit to Arrest.

The shooting remains under investigation.
