Ranked choice voting results expected Thursday

AUGUSTA, Maine (WABI) - Ranked choice voting tabulations are continuing in Augusta, but the Secretary of State’s office says they’re close to getting results.

The process began last Friday for three major races - both the Democratic and Republican races for governor and the Democratic race in CD-2.

The Secretary of State’s office previously said results may be revealed Wednesday. Officials updated WABI around 4 p.m. saying that results will now be ready on Thursday.

Before the election, officials said they hoped for results to be in before Juneteenth, which is this Friday.
