Sunshine & Warmer Today... Humidity Increases Wednesday

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - High pressure centered to our south will usher warmer air into the region today. We’ll see mostly sunny skies across the state with high temperatures topping off in the upper 70s to low 80s along the coast and 80s to near 90° elsewhere. Humidity levels will remain comfortable with dew points in the 50s. Skies will be partly cloudy tonight with lows in the mid-50s to low 60s.

Another warm day ahead for Wednesday along with increasing humidity as high pressure remains to our south. South/southwest winds will usher higher humidity into the region with dew points climbing to the low to mid 60s. We’ll see a mix of sun and clouds with a chance for a few afternoon showers and thunderstorms... mainly across western parts of the state as low pressure approaches from the Great Lakes Region. Temperatures on Wednesday will reach the 80s to near 90° for areas away from the coast while coastal areas remain the 70s due to the southerly breeze off the ocean. We may see a few showers around for Thursday too... again with the best chance being over western parts of the state. Otherwise our Thursday will start with mostly cloudy skies then becoming partly sunny during the afternoon. It’ll be humid but a bit cooler than Wednesday with highs in the mid-70s to low 80s. Friday looks like another warm and humid day with a mix of sun and clouds and highs in the mid-70s to low 80s. A few late day showers will be possible across Western Maine as a cold front approaches. That cold front is forecast to move through the state Saturday. This will bring us a chance of showers Saturday morning followed by drier weather for the afternoon. It’ll be a cooler with humidity levels dropping throughout the day. Temperatures on Saturday will top off in the upper 60s to mid-70s.

Wednesday: Mix of sun and clouds, warm and more humid. A few afternoon showers and thunderstorms possible especially across west of Bangor. Highs in the 70s along the coast and 80s inland. South/southwest wind 5-10 MPH.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy during the morning then becoming partly sunny during the afternoon. Humid. A few scattered showers possible. Highs in the mid-70s to low 80s.

Friday: Mix of sun and clouds... warm and humid. Highs in the mid-70s to low 80s.

Saturday: Mix of sun and clouds. Scattered showers possible... mainly during the morning. Highs in the upper 60s to mid-70s.
