Mattanawcook Academy completes perfect season with Class C state girls basketball title win over Spruce Mountain

AUGUSTA, Maine (WABI) - Mattanawcook Academy captured the Class C state girls basketball championship with a 54-40 win over Spruce Mountain.

The Lynx completed a perfect season with the win.

“We just had to keep our composure. It was a state game. We were nervous, obviously. Coming out of halftime, we knew we just definitely had to settle ourselves down, and we knew we could do it. We did it, so it’s awesome. I got to do it with my best friends, so there’s no better feeling,” said Addison Cyr, senior center.

Cyr, Juliana Cloukey, Megan House, Chloe De La Cruz, and Emma Ayotte graduate as state champions.
