Gardiner gears up for state boys basketball championship against Yarmouth

GARDINER, Maine (WABI) - The Gardiner Tigers emerged as Class B North champions.

Their tourney run featured wins over No. 6 Erskine Academy, No. 2 Hermon, and No. 1 Cony on the way to the regional plaque.

Now, the Tigers have one more prize to go after knocking out the best in the North.

They’ve got South champ and No. 4 Yarmouth in the state title game.

“It’s exciting, to say the least. We’ve all come prepared. We fought hard, and we’re ready to go. We’re physical. We’re fast, and we’re just tough to play against,” said Trace Moody, junior guard.

The Tigers and Clippers will square off tonight at 7:45 p.m. at Bangor’s Cross Insurance Center.
