Mt. Abram moves on to Class D South final after beating Carrabec in close contest

AUGUSTA, Maine (WABI) - No.1 Mt. Abram took down No. 4 Carrabec in a come-from-behind effort.

The Cobras took the lead in to the locker room and late in to the game.

“Very up and down. We just kept our composure,” said Mt. Abram Senior Captain Killian Pillsbury. “We knew we had to battle coming out and play hard, just trust the process. We got down early, we just kept our heads. Pulled through.”

However, turning up the defense, late free throw success and 22 points from Junior Forward Brennan Mitchell gave the Roadrunners an opportunity to bring home a regional title.

“The press helps us so much,” answered Pillsbury. “It turns people over, it gives us some confidence and that’s what we needed.”

They will play No. 2 Monmouth Academy for the Class D South championship.
