BRADLEY, Maine (WABI) - Rep. Jared Golden, D-Maine, has reintroduced a bill to designate a logging museum in Bradley as a National Museum of Forestry and Logging History.

Golden first introduced the bill in October of last year.

The museum, known to many as Leonard’s Mills, was created to celebrate the state’s forest heritage.

In a statement Golden said, “It deserves this national recognition for the role it has played, and will continue to play, in connecting the past, present, and future of forestry and logging in our country.”

The museum owns more than 450 acres around Blackman Stream in Bradley and hosts school groups, visitors, and interactive public programs.

The museum was incorporated in 1960.
