ORLAND, Maine (WABI) - Officials have confirmed the identity of the Winterport man that drowned Thursday in Orland.

They say they recovered the body of 44-year-old Theodore Harris from Toddy Pond.

Reports came in at 1p.m. Thursday for a missing swimmer last seen at the Toddy Dam Bridge.

Investigators with the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office say it appears Harris had been fishing, went into the water, and never resurfaced.

Police say that an initial investigation leads them to believe that Harris suffered a medical emergency that led to his drowning.
