OLD TOWN, Maine (WABI) - Main St in Old Town opened back up Thursday night around 9pm after being closed all day due to a water main break.
The break happened around 5:30am Thursday due to a fire suppression line failing, according to the Old Town Water District.
Crews from the Water District, Old Town Public Works and the City of Old Town worked together all day to make the road passable again.
They estimate they lost nearly 200,000 gallons of water due to the break.
Some of the road does still need to be repaired so use caution in the area.
They will repave the area next week.
