BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Have an old TV or keyboard laying around the basement that you want gone?

The Challenger Learning Center has your back.

In the past, they’ve held e-waste collection drives two times a year.

Staffing shortages have them shifting gears.

All month long, you can drop things off at North Coast Services collection warehouse on Emerson Mill Road in Hampden.

Participants can come by Monday through Friday anytime from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., but Tuesdays through Thursdays are preferred.

“Going on the whole month of April, so there’s still plenty of time to do it and help spread the word that it’s open up to residents of any community. You don’t just have to be in Bangor to do this. And it’s a really, really great way to clean out your house, get those things out of the garage. I’ve been sitting there forever and to help out our organization at the same time,” said Kirsten Hibbard, Challenger Learning Center.

There is a $5 suggested donation for the first item and $10 if you’re dropping off a lot.

There’s more information about the drive and all the other fun things the Challenger has going on at astronaut.org.
