Local girl scouts hold 5th annual drive thru cookie booth
HAMPDEN, Maine (WABI) -Hampden-area girl scouts found a fun and easy way of selling cookies Saturday.
Troop Five, along with a few others, held their fifth annual drive-thru cookie booth.
It’s simple...drive to the Hampden Town Office, place your order, and the girl scouts will do the rest.
All proceeds go toward community service events and local food cupboards.
The girls say they just want to give back to their community and enjoy these experiences too.
“Something bigger than yourself is always amazing to be a part of. This is helping so many people,” said Payton Gerrette, girl scout.
“Learn new things, you get to go to camp. You get to earn your way to so many things and it’s an amazing experience,” said Samantha Libby, girl scout.
“Being part of girl scouts is just so tremendous for the girls. They learn leadership skills, they’re learning money management goal setting, and it just helps them become better women for the future,” said Johanna Libby, Troop 5 leader.
Cookies will be on sale again Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Credit cards are accepted.
