NEWPORT, Maine (WABI) - TV5 spent some time Thursday morning with the very talented students at Nokomis Regional High School in Newport.

These are all students in Amanda Wilson’s personal and career exploration class.

We let them use the equipment and ask the questions for a behind the scenes look at what working in TV news is like.

From breakfast foods to sports and even life on a farm, everyone got a chance to ask their classmates questions that would make a great story.

Part of Wilson’s class involves exposing her students to different careers and the path you can take to get there.

”I think that for freshmen and sophomores, career day is really important because it allows them to explore all that there is in the world of careers because it’s not really typical for students at this age to know what they want to do, and I think that as a teacher, it’s my job to kind of let them explore all of the options that there are,” Wilson said.

As you just saw, the students even got to ask their teacher a few questions.

The future is very bright for these young Mainers.
