Bangor Floral selling yellow and blue arrangements to support Ukraine
BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - A Queen City florist is trying to make a difference for the people of Ukraine, one petal at a time.
Bangor Floral is selling arrangements to support humanitarian efforts on the ground.
The designs are made up of yellow and blue flowers, symbolic of the Ukrainian flag.
They also feature sunflowers, the country’s national flower and a sign of resistance.
Owner Joseph Langlois says he came up with the idea at the beginning of the month.
He says he was inspired by a number of his employees who also volunteer for the American Red Cross.
He wanted to do his part to help with the purchase of food, clothing, and other supplies that are in high demand.
”That’s the bottom line. No matter where you are, no matter what you’re doing - you can do something. If it’s not this, make a donation directly to the Red Cross or another charity, but do something,” said Langlois.
Langlois is donating 20% of profits from the sale of these arrangements to the Red Cross through the end of the month.
You can call or stop by the shop on Harlow Street for more information or to order.
