Augusta man arrested for unlawful sexual touching, contact

AUGUSTA, Maine (WABI) - An Augusta man employed by the Army National Guard is charged with unlawful sexual touching and contact.

We’re told 32-year-old Aaron Engroff turned himself in to officials Thursday after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

He’s charged with three counts of unlawful sexual contact and three counts unlawful sexual touching.

Kennebec County District Attorney Maeghan Maloney says the alleged crimes involve a minor but have no connection to his work with the National Guard.

Officials say the investigation started in January.

We’re told his bail is set at $1,000 and he is not to have contact with the victim or any unsupervised contact with children under 14.

We contacted the Maine Army National Guard on Friday afternoon regarding Engroff’s status with the Guard but has not heard back.
