NEWPORT, Maine (WABI) - A Newport woman will serve two years behind bars after embezzling hundreds of thousands of dollars from two nonprofits she worked for.
Court documents say between June of 2015 and April of 2019.
56 year-old Sheri Walsh committed fraud by transferring funds from one organization to another then converted them for her own use.
Some of that money came from federal grants.
The judge also ordered Walsh pay more than 325 thousand dollars in restitution.
She will begin her sentence by the end of July.
